My E3 2018 Press Conference Ranking Part 2

Welcome back to my three (or four) part series where I rank the e3 2018 press conferences and the games within each press conference. If you haven't read part 1, you can read it here. If you don't want to read the list, how this works is that I am ranking the press conferences based on what was presented, how it was presented, and more. I am also ranking the games presented at each conference based on interest level, release date, and more. The press conferences I am covering are Devolver, Ea, Square Enix, PC Gaming Show, Microsoft, Sony, Ubisoft, Bethesda, and Nintendo. One thing I forgot to mention in the past part was to say I apologize for any games I miss, if I miss any. One more thing: when it comes to the console press conferences, if there is a multi-platform game, the platform doesn't affect its ranking unless specifically stated. Just because I rank a multi-platform game high on a list doesn't mean I would prefer playing that game on that specific system (unless specifically stated). Without further ado, let's get started.

6. Nintendo

Like I said in the previous part, I am not a fan of just playing a video for your press conference. For this reason and others like weird pacing (showing half of your game lineup in less time than showing Smash Bros. Ultimate), Nintendo falls onto the number six position. Still, the high amount of games they showed does make up for its others flaws and ranks it higher than EA's press conference. So, let's get into the games.

38. Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country

I haven't played the game, I don't have a big interest in playing the game, and this DLC isn't going to do anything for me.

37. SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy

My two favorite genres combine: anime and fighting games. Ok I try to get into fighting games at least, but this will be the last game I try to get into.

36 and 35. FIFA 18 and 19

I don't do yearly-released sports games, and if I did I would most likely not choose soccer.

34. Just Dance 2019

They still release these games? At least they put on a good press conference showing at Ubisoft.

33. Minecraft

Can't wait for Minecraft on my calculator. Also, didn't they already release Minecraft on the Switch?

32 and 31. Ark: Survival Evolved and Pixark

I do not like survival games, and a Minecraft-esque variant isn't going to change that.

30. Arena of Valor

I kind of like MOBA games, but if I were to play one on the Switch, I would rather play League of Legends or DOTA 2. I'm not big on MOBA games, so I don't know which one is the best.

29. Fallout Shelter

I'm not going to lie, I got this game on Switch when it came out. I like games like Tiny Towers, and I wanted to give this game a second chance. But this game is too micromanage-y for me and its free-to-play nature comes out too soon in that game.

28. Fire Emblem: Three Houses

I like turn-based strategy games, but I haven't played any game in this series. I don't think this game is going to entice me any more or less, but the game still looks good.

27. Fortnite

I'm not a big Fortnite player, but having a multiplayer game on the Switch that is free is nice. After some time with it (yes, I got this when it came out too), I can say that the best place to play the game (at least for me) is on Switch, and I am glad it's there.

26. Ninjala

It's cartoonish vibe and gameplay looks like some fun to play. I don't have much else to say about it.

25. Paladins

I haven't tried out Paladins yet, and I think the Switch will be the best platform to try it out on.

24. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus

I have already played the game, so I probably won't get it on Switch. But I am interested in seeing how well it works and I am glad more people have access to the game.

23. The World Ends With You

I have never played the game before, so now is a good time to try.

22. Sushi Striker: Way of the Sushido

The gameplay looks neat, but I don't know if it's $50 neat.

21. Carcassonne

I don't know why I was so intrigued by a board game on Switch, but next thing you know this game is at twenty-one.

20. Dragon Ball FighterZ

I don't like anime or fighting games, but I have heard great things about this game and I may want to try it.

19. Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion

I have always been super close to buying Splatoon 2, but I haven't quite pulled the trigger. I haven't because I mostly play my Switch on-the-go, which means more likely than not I am not connected to the internet. But with this new DLC being singelplayer, I may just pick up the game.

18. Star Link: Battle For Atlas

I am interested in seeing its whole toys-to-life aspect of the game and the gameplay does look like a decent amount of fun.

17. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle: Donkey Kong Adventure

I had a surprisingly good time with the game, so I am willing to try out this new DLC.

16. Daemon X Machina

This game got styyyle. And the gameplay looks pretty fun too.

15. Dark Souls: Remastered

I tried and failed getting past the first Dark Souls, I think it's time to give the game a second chance.

14. Crash Bandicoot Trilogy

Still haven't played any of these games, so now is a good time to try them. Also, I am quite surprised to see these games on other platforms.

13. Wasteland 2

I know it's a bit unfair for a game already released to be so high, but this game has two things I like: a post-apocalyptic setting and turn-based combat.

12. Killer Queen Black

This game looks like a really unique multiplayer experience that looks like a lot of fun to play with friends on the couch.

11. Mega Man 11

I keep meaning to play the legacy collections, so maybe this game will motivate me to play these games so I could play this game.

10. Super Mario Party

After going through ten great parties in Mario Party Party, I have been wanting to experience the pain that is Mario Party (because I am weird like that). Now is my chance.

9. Hollow Knight

Again, it feels a bit unfair to put games already released so high on this list. But I have been wanting to try this game out for some time and I think it looks great.

8. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker

I haven't played this game before, but I am excited to try this game out.

7. Octopath Traveler

The gorgeous visuals spiked my curiosity, and the gameplay got my attention.

6. Overcooked 2

I still haven't got to the first Overcooked game, but it looks like a lot of fun to play. I can't wait to try out the second game.

5. Mario Tennis Aces

I'm not a big sports game guy, but I am always interested in non yearly released sports game. I haven't played a tennis game since Wii Sports, and I think Mario Tennis Aces will fill the hole Wii Sports left.

4 and 3. Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee

I decided to put the two games under the same position because they are practically the same game. All I really have to say is it's Pokemon on the Switch.

2. Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate

Again, unfair to put a game so high on the list despite it already releasing. But I haven't played a Monster Hunter game yet and I am excited to try it. I'm a little disappointed that it isn't World, but that's fine.

1. Smash Bros. Ultimate

Of all of the games I haven't played yet I told myself I should play because everyone else is playing it, Smash comes out on top. Now is my chance.

That concludes my Nintendo list. At this rate, this is going to be four parts. Now onto the next press conference, which is almost as long as Nintendo's.

5. PC Gaming Show

The PC Gaming Show was actually pretty good. It had a good structure, a good amount of games to show, and the snack duck. Also, props to the hosts that were surprisingly good. They didn't feel scripted and shoutout to Sean Plott for being on his toes when the mics failed. I would say the biggest flaw of this press conference was that it felt a little bland. Overall, a solid press conference. Let's get into the games.

31. Neo Cab

Nothing shown really grabbed me with the game.

30. Warframe: The Sacrifice

I don't play Warframe, but I think the game looks great, and I am glad the developers are still working on the game.

29. Killing Floor 2: The Summer Sideshow

I do play Killing Floor 2, and I am glad that the developers have kept with this game.

28. Hunt Showdown Update

Not as big of an update as the previous two, but I have really enjoyed Hunt: Showdown, and I am glad to see it's still getting updates.

27. Jurassic World Evolution

The next three games are all building management games, and I am not the biggest fan. Still I am willing to try them out. But out of the three, this is the last of the three I am willing to try. Still looks good though.

26. Anno 1800

This one is higher than Jurassic because I like its setting.

25. Two Point Hospital

I liked this game the most out of the three building games because of its light-hearted nature and its goofy humor.

24. Rapture Rejects

Oh look, another battle royale game. The only battle royale games I want to see are ones with interesting new game mechanics, but adding in a Cyanide and Happiness theme isn't selling it for me.

23. Realm Royale

Yeah, pretty much the same thing as the previous one. I do appreciate the new classes, but overall I am not interested.

22. Archangel Hellfire

Looks like it could be fun, but overall it looks like another one of those type of VR games.

21. Don't Starve hamlet

I haven't played any of the Don't Starve games, but it looks like a good addition to the series.

20. Star Control Origins

The game looks neat, but what I have seen so far feels like it needs more.

19. Overwhelm

It's a fine looking platformer, but I am honestly more interested in the new publishing studio publishing this game.

18. Maneater

I'm interested and skeptical about a shark game, which is why this game rests at 18.

17. Forgotten City

It sounds like an interesting game, but I have a feeling that it will be forgotten from my mind soon after writing this.

16. Mavericks Proving Grounds

This the only battle royale game coming out of E3 that I have any interest. I am interested in seeing how 1000 players works and its MMO aspects has me wondering how it blends with a battle royale game.

15. Night Call

I know that this game is almost exactly like Neo Cab, but I prefer this game's noir setting and its narrative grabbed me more than the other.

14. Bravery Network Online

Its artwork and gameplay interests me, and I am oddly drawn into the fact that it's in a boxing ring. I don't know why.

13. Noita

The whole 'every pixel is simulated' thing actually looks really neat and I love how that aspect affects its gameplay.

12. Star Citizen

The game looks interesting, but I have no clue how that game is going or anything.

11. Walking Dead Season 4

I'm not a big fan of narrative games, but the one that I have always held near to me is Telltale's Walking Dead. I haven't played season 3, but now seeing the series is concluding wants me to go back and finish it.

10. Satisfactory

The thing I loved about Slime Rancher is the mixture of excitement (exploring) with the mundane (ranching). This game looks like it could scratch that itch.

9. Stormland

Despite looking like another VR shooter, I am interested to see its open world and its movement mechanics.

8. Just Cause 4

Already talked about it. Looks neat. Moving on.

7. Ooblets

It's a smiles-only kind of game and I like the gameplay I have seen so far.

6. Morningstar

I wanna know more. What's going on?

5. Genesis Alpha One

Pretty much the same thing as Satisfactory (mundane mixed with excitement). I have been following this game for some time, so I am excited to see what is to come with it.

4. Sinking City

The time period, setting, open world environment, and more appeal to me in this game, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

3. Sable

As soon as the trailer played, Sable grabbed my attention with its beautiful visuals and relaxing gameplay. This is a game I am looking forward to.

2. Overkill Walking Dead

I love a good zombie game, and what was shown of this game looks great. Plus, Overkill is making this game, and I have a lot of hours into Payday 2, so I am confident that the co-op will be great.

1. Hitman 2

Do I need to say anything else other than hell yeah? Hitman is a fantastic game, and I can't wait to kill dudes at a race in Miami.

Extra: Sega trailer

One of the trailers shown was a Sega trailer showing a bunch of games. I decided to exclude it from the list because it showed multiple games and I am too lazy to add each one to the list.

That concludes part 2 of this series. This is definitely going to be a four part series. Sorry if I missed any games, and if I did please tell me in the comments. Also if you have a ranking of your own, do put that in the comments as well. Thank you for reading and tune in for the next part soon.

Part three here.
